Samsung Galaxy S WiFi Player 4.2 announced at the MWC

Samsung has extended the list of launches at the MWC 2012, with the addition of the Samsung Galaxy S Player upgrade in the list. The device, which originally holds the name Galaxy S WiFi for making it line up with the likes of iPod Touch from Apple in the market. There is no much change from the previous version, i.e. the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 3.6 music player. These are all almost the Samsung Galaxy S series mobile phones from which the heart feature of calling is removed. That’s what every brand does, take Apple iPhone and iPod Touch to compare.

The 4.2-inch WVGA (480 x 800) screen has two touch sensitive keys, and a central physical key below itself. And the Galaxy S WiFi 4.2 is going to run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The Player would be coming with the dual cameras, the rear one being of 2MP quality and the front one is a VGA quality one for the video chatting. The connectivity options that we see with the Galaxy S WiFi include the Bluetooth 3.0, USB 2.0 and WiFI 802.11 b/g/n.
Without the call function, the given battery of 1,500mAh battery is not any less as it would provide some good long hours of usage. The WiFi player will be shipped in two variants, the 8GB and 16GB ones, and what keeps these Android Samsung devices ahead of the others is the extra storage capacity, where the users can use the MicroSD cards to increase the storage by an extra 32GB. The expected price is around $250 to $300 but there is no official word about it.
What we saw from Samsung in the MWC 2012 till now is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, apart from this sleek player.
