How to Root Samsung Galaxy Note without Increasing Flash Counter Number

Feel Free as in the due course of this article we will be guiding you on how to root your Samsung Galaxy Note fearlessly without thinking much about the flash counter increase. As many of the users apply the update or root the device using the Odin multi upload tool, Galaxy NOTE keeps a track on how many times the device has been successfully updated / rooted using Odin tool. The method which we will be going to adopt has been tested and tried on the at&t powered Samsung Galaxy Note. Please note that this procedure should only be applied by the users of NOTE users whose model numbers are N7000 and Galaxy Note on at&t network.

Before proceeding to the list of instructions which you need to follow, we will be checking out on what are the list of pre requisites one has to follow before rooting and then followed by which we will check out a detailed guide on how to stop the increasing flash counter when rooted or updated the phone.
Essential Pre Requisites:
  • Its always recommended to backup all the data present in your phone so that just in case if any data gets corrupted or deleted, the same can be easily restored with the help of below mentioned steps. Don’t use KIES to backup all our data as after this process, it may or may not get detected.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
  • Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Ensure that the USB Debugging option is ticked as shown in the below screen capture.

  • Ensure that the minimum charge left in your device is at least 50% so as to ensure that the device doesn’t get turned off in the middle of process.

Procedure to Root Samsung Galaxy Note without Increasing Flash Counter Number:
  • First up you need to Download Odin 3 v1.0 as well as the Rooting TAR file in your computer. After this, open the Odin in your computer and turn Off your Galaxy NOTE  so that you can then enter the device in the Download mode.
  • The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
  • Now, you need to connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase. As soon as you connect, within a minute the ID : COM section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed and then you need to proceed to select the files in the Odin.
  • In odin click on “PDA” and select the file which is named as “downloaded tar file”. After this, click on “Start” tab to start the process. Once the process is completed, the device will be restarted automatically.
  • From next time whenever you will root or update your Galaxy Note, the device won’t be counting the number of times the device has been rooted or updated.
Note: Just in case if the  device gets stuccoed in the middle of the process then you need to re apply the whole process from the start by following the procedure mentioned above.
