  • Minimum charge left in the device should be at least 60% so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of recovery mode installation process.
So assuming that you have followed all the instructions, you can now proceed to the next step where we will be checking out on how to update with the custom recovery image.
Procedure to Install the Custom ROM recovery image in Vodafone SMART:
  • Download the Custom Recovery Image Zip Package & Rooting APK File (extract to get APK File) from here to your computer and then connect your phone to the computer using the Original USB cable to place this downloaded Zip file and the APK file.
  • Now after placing the files in the phone, disconnect the phone from the computer and then open the placed APK file to install the same and then you need to turn off the phone so as to enter the device in the recovery mode.
  • To enter the device in the recovery mode, you need to restart your device by holding down the ‘power’ & ‘volume up’ keys.
  • So once the device is entered into the recovery mode, you now need to now select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the CWM Zip file which is placed in the phone.
  • Once the update process is completed, the device will again land back to the recovery screen. In the recovery screen, select “++++ Go Back ++++” and then choose the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the system. If the phone refuses to show the home screen even after 5 minutes of restart, you need to then reinsert the battery. Just in case if you wish to apply the ADB Method for custom recovery image installation, you can do the same by following the below instructions.

  • Alternatively, you can also install the custom ROM recovery image file from the below mentioned commands via the ADB Method but before that you need to Download the Supported Files Zip package in your computer and unzip the same to a directory preferably to your desktop.

adb reboot recovery
As soon as the process is completed, the device should reboot into Clockwork Mod Reovery after which remove the connected USB cable and restart the device.
Tip: Due to some reasons if the custom recovery image installation process gets failed or interrupted, then you need to repeat the rooting process again by following the steps again from the start. Don’t forget to restore the backup which you have taken in the initial steps.
