  • All the data like SMS, Contacts, Call log, APN Settings etc. needs to be backed up as in the process of firmware update, there is a possibility that the data may get corrupted or erased. With the help of below mentioned steps you can easily backup the data.
  • Note: Don’t backup the data using the KIES PC Suite as KIES doesn’t recognize the custom ROM firmwares.
Text messages – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Phone Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Pictures, Music, Videos, Files etc.– Copy to internal / External SD Card,
Internet & MMS Settings – Backup all the settings from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
  • Charge left in your device should be a minimum of 60% so that your phone doesn’t give up in the middle of firmware update.
  • Enable the USB debugging in your Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The USB Debugging option should be ticked.

  • Turn Off all the antivirus as well as Firewall tools in your computer as these tools tend to interrupt the process of firmware update. 

    Procedure to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with Batista 70 FOXHOUND EDITION:
    • Before proceeding, you need to ensure that you are on the rooted XXLPH Firmware, just in case if you are on any other update then apply the same and root using the below mentioned links.
    • Download Package 1 & Package 2 from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to the computer using the original USB cable. After this, you need to copy both these packages in your phone.
    • Remove the phone connected from computer and turn Off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by “Pressing Volume Up key+ Menu Key + Power ON the device”. Once you enter into the recovery mode, you need to select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache which is there in your device.
    • Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Part 1 Batista70 Foxhound edition Custom ROM Firmware Zip file which is placed in the phone.
    • It should take round about 5 – 10 minutes of time for applying this update and once its updated either the device will be restarted or will land up in the recovery mode.  If the device lands up in the recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Part 2 Batista70 Foxhound edition Custom ROM Firmware Zip file which is placed in the phone.
    • After the 2nd Zip file is update, you need to now select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” so that this will clear the cache after which select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” which will restart the Galaxy S2 in the updated firmware.

    Note: In an unfortunate event if the process is interrupted then you will have to repeat the whole procedure from the start so as to again successfully update the phone.
