Virtuous ROM present s an all new custom ROM firmware for none other than the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer which we will be checking out in the due course of this article. This custom firmware enables the transformer prime to power up the tablet with over clocking capability which will drive the processing speeds to as high as 1.6GHz. Over a period of this article, we will be checking out on what are the list of pre requisites followed by the screen captures and then detailed tutorial on how to apply this custom Firmware with some simple steps. Please be informed that this is not an Official firmware update released by ASUS and also we are not aware of on by when there will be an all new update available for your device.

Pre Upgrade Instructions:
- Your data present in your Asus transformer is precious and the best part is that you can easily backup the same as in the due course of the firmware update, there is a probability that the data may get lost.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Please note that you should at least have a battery life of more than 50% just to ensure that the Asus Transformer doesn’t get turn Off in the middle of the process of firmware update.
- Disable all the tools like Security Suites, Firewall tools along with the PC Suite as these software suites tend to interrupt the update process. The APN Settings are located in this path, Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.

Procedure to Update Virtuous Custom ROM Firmware in ASUS Eee PAD Transformer:
- ASUS Eee Pad Transformer should be rooted as it doesn’t work on the non rooted phones.
- Download the Custom ROM Firmware package from here to your computer. Once you download the same, you need to connect your Eee Pad transformer to place this zip file in your tab.
- After this, remove the connected USB cable and then enable the USB Debugging Mode in your Tab. USB Debugging Mode from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Ensure that the USB Debugging option is ticked as shown in the below screen capture.

- Turn Off your device so that the device can be entered in the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by holding the Volume down button and then press the power button after which a splash screen will be appeared with some white text on the left top corner.
- After this you need to press the Volume Up key so as to boot the device in the CWM recovery mode. In the recovery mode, you need to select options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition after which all the cache data will be deleted in your device.
- Now, Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then locate the Custom ROM Zip file which you have placed in your phone and then select the same by pressing the Power button.
- Once the device is updated successfully, select “++++ Go Back ++++” and select “reboot system now” which will reboot the device.
Note: The device may take longer than expected time to boot the device and to show up the home screen as it’s the first reboot after the firmware update. Also just in case if the process gets stuck at any point of time then you need to re insert the battery and re follow the instructions mentioned in the article.
To ensure that the firmware is applied successfully, you need to check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where you will find the version of Virtuous Android Firmware. If there is any other version then do let us know in the comments section below.
