Jet Custom ROM is the new custom ROM firmware which can now be used by all the users of Micromax A60 as in the due course of this article we will be checking on how to apply this all new custom ROM for your phone. Please note that this custom ROM firmware is not an official firmware released by Micromax officially and for applying this, you need to root your phone and install the Clock Work Mod recovery in your phone. Once you root the device, the warranty of the device gets void and the only way with which you can reclaim the lost warranty is by applying the factory firmware again which we will be coming up with very shortly.All thanks to Varun Chitre who has built this firmware. Though this is the beta version of firmware, there will be some bugs, just in case if there are any bugs which you encounter with then do report us in the comments section.

So before we proceed, we will first check out on what are the list of pre requisites you need to follow and then we will check out on how to apply the firmware in your device by following a simple tutorial mentioned in the next page.
Pre Requisites:
- All the data present in your phone should be backed up so that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored easily.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Ensure that the USB Debugging option is ticked as shown in the below screen capture.
- Minimum charge left in the device should be the minimum of 60% so as to ensure that the device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of updation process.
So assuming that you have followed all the instructions mentioned above, you can now proceed to the next step with which you can install the custom Recovery image in your phone.
Procedure to Update JET Custom ROM in Micromax A60 Android Phone:- First up you need to Download JET Custom ROM Package in your computer and then connect your phone to the computer with the help of USB cable to place the downloaded Zip file in your phone and remove the connected phone with the computer.
- Up next you need to turn Off your phone so that you can enter your device in the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Home Button and Power ON the device by holding the home button.
- Now, in the recovery mode, you need to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the Jet ROM Firmware Zip file which you have placed in your phone.
- As soon as the firmware is updated successfully, the phone will either restart automatically or will land up in the recovery mode screen. If the device is entered in the recovery mode screen then you need to select the option of “++++ Go Back ++++” and select the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the Jet Custom ROM firmware.
Note: Just in case if the device takes more than 10 minutes of time to reboot the system then you will have to re insert the battery so as to reboot the phone again. If in an unfortunate event if the device gets hung at any point of time then you will have to re apply the firmware by following the instructions from the start.To check whether the firmware has been successfully updated or not, you can check the same from the path Settings >About Phone > Firmware Version where you will see that the firmware version as Jet ROM.So, in this way you have successfully updated your device with the jet ROM Firmware.
