SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log - Call Log and Restore
Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
Enable the USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Ensure that the USB Debugging option is ticked as shown in the below screen capture.
Minimum battery level present in your phone should be 60% so as to ensure that the device doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.

Procedure to Root AT&T powered SAMSUNG Galaxy Note:
  • Download Samsung Galaxy note USB Drivers Package in your computer to install the same. Up next, you need to Download Rooting TAR file for Note from here to your computer along with the Odin.
  • Open the Odin executable file in your computer and turn Off your SAMSUNG Galaxy Note so as to enter the device in the Download Mode.

  • The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
  • Once the Note is turned ON in the download mode, with the help of USB Cable connect the phone with the computer while keeping Odin opened in your computer. As soon as drivers are installed successfully, the ID : COM section in odin will turn yellow after which proceed to the next step to select the files.

  • Once the device is rooted successfully, the phone will be rebooted. Once you see the home screen, remove the connected USB cable and you need to remove the connected USB Cable to turn off the phone so as to enter the Note in the recovery mode.
  • The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
  • In recovery mode, select options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and also you need to select the option of “Clear Dalvik Cache” after which you need to reboot your device by selecting reboot system now after which all the cache files will get deleted.
Tip: just in case if the process gets interrupted at any point of time then you need to reapply the whole procedure again from the start after re inserting the battery.
