Samsung Electronics in a press meet today announced that Galaxy S II smartphone has now received Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. This upgrade will be rolled over gradually to all countries one by one and within a month it will reach all parts of the world where Galaxy S II smartphone is available. As of now this upgrade is available beginning from today for all the users in Poland, Hungary, Sweden in Europe and South Korea in the Asia Pacific region.
If you own Galaxy S II smartphone and you live in countries as listed above then do check out on your phone whether update is available or not. Many users will also receive notification on their mobile phone about this update and those users are recommended to backup most of the things on their mobile phone and get ready for the update.
The Ice Cream Sandwich update for many devices not only Galaxy S II has got very much late. It was introduced in November last year and you can’t complain either Google Android team or your manufacturer for the update since it requires a rigorous testing of providing bug free Android update and no update was such bigger than Android 4.0 upgrade. So it took time for this.
Since this update is not available as of now for United States, users who have purchase Galaxy S II via AT & T, Sprint or Verizon Wireless they have to wait for another schedule update.
Users can also check for manual update by going through Menu > Setting > About Phone > Update > Check Now manually.
