Disney Interactive today unveiled its most ambitious gaming initiative ever, Disney Infinity. This all new game platform unlocks the freedom to create stories and play experiences starring beloved characters from The Walt Disney Company and Pixar Animation Studios. Disney Infinity allows players to both experience original adventures in some of their favorite Disney and Pixar worlds and to build their own worlds using the power of their imagination.

“Disney Infinity introduces a new way to interact with the best of Disney on one game platform, both now and in the future," said John Pleasants, co-president, Disney Interactive. “With this innovative approach to gaming, Disney Infinity will bring to life new characters, stories and environments from The Walt Disney Company over time in a way that will delight fans and gamers alike.” 

In a way that only Disney can, Disney Infinity integrates collectible character figures that come to life in the game.  These figures provide experiences that are true to these characters and stories, as well as the opportunity to bring characters from various Disney and Pixar films to play together in a virtual “Toy Box.” This all-new game universe will launch in June across all consoles and will have a phased roll out across mobile and online devices throughout 2013. 

Throughout each story-driven experience, called a “Play Set,” players will solve challenging puzzles, battle enemies and explore iconic locations from famous Disney properties, while collecting unique characters, vehicles, and gadgets from each world and saving them to a virtual “Toy Box.” Players can access their “Toy Box” and build and customize their own unique virtual world using their favorite characters, vehicles, settings and accessories. New levels, new zombie missions and now new weapons, what we have here is the first Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC.

So it seems the first DLC pack to come stumbling out the gates like a zombie after your highly tasty brains will be titles Revolution and will feature 4 new multiplayer maps. This isn't anything new to those used to a CoD map pack release but for the first time ever they will be releasing a new weapon as part of the pack simply known as the Peacekeeper.

Another exciting prospect for this pack is the ability to play as a Zombi and hunt down the lone surviving human player. If and when your able to take the player out you then become said lone human and its up to you to save the world.

The map pack will release on January 29th for Xbox 360.

This is the kind of thing us Games and Gadgets Geeks live for, the merging of technology with games to provide an awe inspiring gaming experience. The clever people over at Microsoft Research have announced IllumiRoom, which was shown off at this years CES.

The basics of this is that it augments the surrounding area of the TV with projected visuals. This is achieved by using a Kinect for Windows, a projector and whole bag full of magic trickery. IllumiRoom will be able to extend the field of view, induce motion and change the appearance of the whole room.

IllumiRoom still remains a proof of concept which means we won't be seeing it in our living rooms any time soon if at all but look out for more info in April when Microsoft research are heading to CHI 2013.

So yesterday we were introduced to the first 3D Pokemon game for the 3DS, Pokemon X and Y. We got a trailer showing off a few shots of gameplay and within that was a quick sneaky peek at the new Legendary Pokemon.

Well we have some news for you, Nintendo let slip today that these legendary beasts will be called Yveltal and Xerneas. If your having trouble with trying to pronounce these names then fear not Ninty are on hand to provide you with the phonetic spelling. Yveltal is pronounced ee-VELL-tawl and Xerneas is pronounced ZURR-nee-us.
